At the beginning of the reception, Consul General Huang Ping delivered a warm speech, sending holiday greetings and sincere blessings to the guests and compatriots in the eastern United States.
Consul General Huang Ping said that in the 74 years since the founding of New China, under the strong leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC), countless Chinese children have been struggling for national rejuvenation and moving forward. Today, China's per capita GDP has exceeded 12,000 U.S. dollars, 850 million people have been lifted out of poverty, and per capita life expectancy exceeds 78 years. We have built a moderately prosperous society in all aspects, achieved the first hundred-year goal, and steadily ranked as the world's second-largest economy, the largest manufacturing country, and the largest country in trade in goods; our economic strength, scientific and technological strength, and comprehensive national strength have jumped to a new level, and the Chinese nation has realized a great leap from standing up, getting rich to getting strong. China will adhere to the basic national policy of opening up to the outside world, firmly pursue the open-door strategy of mutual benefit and win-win cooperation, and continue to provide the world with new opportunities through China's new development.
Consul General Huang Ping pointed out that while welcoming the National Day and the Mid-Autumn Festival, we miss our compatriots in Taiwan. There is only one China in the world, and Taiwan is an inseparable part of China's territory. Compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait are connected by blood and are a family whose blood is thicker than water. We have always respected, cared for and benefited our compatriots in Taiwan, committed ourselves to promoting cross-Strait exchanges and cooperation, and insisted on striving for the prospect of peaceful reunification with the utmost sincerity and effort. We hope to work with our compatriots in Taiwan to uphold the 1992 Consensus, which embodies the one-China principle, and resolutely oppose separatist acts of Taiwan independence and interference by external forces, so as to jointly safeguard peace and stability in the Taiwan Straits, create the long-lasting well-being of the Chinese nation, and share the great glory of national revitalization! Consul General Huang Ping emphasized that the world is in the process of rejuvenation!
Consul General Huang Ping emphasized that the world needs generally stable China-US relations, and whether China and the US can get along correctly has a bearing on the future destiny of mankind. China has always viewed and developed China-U.S. relations in accordance with President Xi Jinping's three principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation. We hope to work with the U.S. side to continue to come up with more pragmatic and beneficial actions to maintain and develop China-U.S. relations. The Consulate General in New York is willing to work hand in hand with the majority of overseas Chinese to jointly promote the stabilization and improvement of China-US relations for the betterment of both countries and the people of the world.
