On the morning of February 6th, the young ambassadors who had traveled across the ocean from China to the United States attended the opening ceremony of the 2024 "Happy Chinese New Year" Ice and Snow Carnival International Junior Ambassadors Winter Study Camp at the Camelback Mountain Resort in Pennsylvania. This marked the official commencement of a two-week winter study camp journey.
The event was graced by Ms. Hutchison, Vice President of the Philadelphia World Affairs Council; Ms. Carla, Model United Nations Instructor at St. Mark's School; Ms. Min Ye, Producer from Wuhan Broadcasting and Television; Mr. Fu Zhu, Director of the Academic Affairs Office at Fuzhou No.1 High School; Ms. Han Qian, Executive Director of Dinuo International Education; Ms. Liu Jian, China Regional Director of Dinuo International Education; along with the young ambassadors participating in the winter study camp and American students from St. Mark's School.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Ms. Han Qian, Executive Director of Dinuo International Education, took to the stage to deliver a speech. She welcomed the young ambassadors who had come from afar and expressed her gratitude to both Chinese and American students for attending the opening ceremony and the upcoming official "Happy Chinese New Year" celebration events.
Following her, Ms. Hutchison, Vice President of the Philadelphia World Affairs Council, addressed the audience. She stated that the Council would continue to strongly support friendly exchanges between the youth of China and the United States and looked forward to collaborating with Dinuo Education to bring American students to China for visits and exchanges.
After the inspiring speeches, teachers from the Chinese team, brimming with profound and fervent emotions, wished to offer the most sincere messages to the students participating in this winter study camp. Ms. Min Ye, Producer from Wuhan Broadcasting and Television, took the stage to speak: Eight years ago, Wuhan Television brought a student team to the United States for the first time and has since participated in the young ambassadors' activities for several consecutive years. Those students are now pursuing their master's and doctoral studies. Eight years later, a new group of young ambassadors has embarked on another exciting journey. Ms. Min warmly welcomed the visiting students and teachers from St. Mark's School, elaborated on the significant importance of Sino-American cultural exchanges for the growth of Chinese youth, and expressed her hopes for a smooth and successful trip.
Finally, Mr. Fu Zhu, Director of the Academic Affairs Office at Fuzhou No.1 High School, shared his feelings about leading the group to the United States. He expressed that the youth symbolize the sun of the nation's tomorrow, and the friendly exchanges between the young people of China and the United States are crucial as they relate to the future of bilateral relations. "The road ahead is long and challenging, but with persistent effort, the future is promising!"
