On July 27, 2017, Commissioned by the Sino-American Business & Travel Association, Window of Philadelphia successfully hosted a personal silk-screen print exhibition for Professor Nie Yuehua, an artist from Tsinghua University in China, at the well-known Asian Arts Initiative in Philadelphia. Deputy Mayor of Philadelphia Nina Ahmad and Philadelphia City Councilman Mark Squilla, as well as hundreds of overseas Chinese leaders and nearly 100 guests from all walks of life participated in the opening ceremony. In order to expand the influence of Chinese art in the mainstream western art world, after more than a year of unremitting efforts, we have specially applied for the "Meritorious Art Award" of the Rodin International Artists Foundation and the Goddess Museum in the United States for Professor Nie. On the opening ceremony of the exhibition on July 27th, Ms. Ellen Zhaoqiong, Director of the Goddess Museum, and Mr. William Schicktanz, Vice Chairman of the Rodin International Artists Foundation in the United States, presented Nie Yaohua with the certificate of "Meritorious Art Award", giving Chinese artists a bright star on the world art stage and a milestone in Professor Nie's personal artistic career.
In his speech, Congressman Squilla expressed his great pleasure that Nie Yaohua chose to hold her painting exhibition here in Chinatown, Philadelphia, promoting friendship through cultural exchanges and cooperation between the two sides. It is hoped that there will be more in-depth cooperation in the future to promote the development of urban culture. At the same time, on behalf of the City Council, Squilla presented Ms. Nie Yaohua with an honorary certificate, commending her artistic attainments and contribution to the cultural exchange between China and the United States.
